Derby Deportation Case Comes Under Fire From Blumenthal

Blumenthal urged ICE to reconsider a man's deportation because he has no criminal record.

DERBY, CT — U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal said he would send a letter to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials after a man with no criminal record. Guatemalan immigrant Luis Barrios was seized by agents after being in the country since 1992.

Barrios could be deported as early as this week, according to the Connecticut Post. He is the father of four children who were born in the United States. To sign up for Shelton and Derby breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Blumenthal said he fellow Sen. Chris Murphy will write a letter to ICE officials in an effort to make them reconsider.
