Derby Has 2 Charter Revision Questions on November Ballot
Residents are being asked to vote on the issue of "dual office holding."

DERBY, CT — Local residents are being asked to vote on two Charter Revision questions in the Nov. 8 election, one of which addresses the issue of "dual office holding" by members of the Board of Aldermen.
The first question is more of a procedural exercise: "Shall the Charter of the City of Derby be revised in accordance with the report and recommendations of the Charter Revision Commission of 2016?"
The yes or no question essentially cleans up the language on the current city Charter by updating it to include gender neutral language and other items, such as eliminating the need to post meeting notices in local newspapers.
