A Derby man accused of having an "inappropriate relationship" with a 14-year-old girl was recently arrested by Seymour police.

DERBY, CT — A Derby man accused of having an "inappropriate relationship" with a 14-year-old girl was arrested Friday by Seymour police.

In a news release posted to Facebook, Chief of Police John Bucherati said Seymour police received information in June accusing Uilton Dias, 48, of Derby, of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

After a lengthy investigation, police determined Dias was involved in a sexual relationship with the teen, and this sexual activity took place in Seymour on at least one occasion, according to Bucherati.
