Man Gets In Fight With 5-Year-Old: Shelton PD

The 6'4'' 270 pound man pinned a child down and began screaming at him after the child played a practical joke, police said.

SHELTON, CT — A 33-year-old Derby man was arrested for getting into a fight with a 5-year-old at a Shelton daycare that was hosting a Father's Day party, according to police. The incident occurred at the Apple Tree day care on June 16.

Children made out cards to their fathers at the party, said Detective Richard Bango, police spokesman. One of the other children playfully took Lance Churchill's card and ran around the room with it.

Churchill who is 6'4'' and 270 pounds chased the child and picked him up over his head, Bango said. He then pinned the child down and screamed at him in front of the other children. Day care staff separated Churchill and the child and called police.
