Derby Mayor Anita Dugatto Preps For Run At 3rd Term: Report

She faces competition in her own party for the nomination.

DERBY, CT — Incumbent Derby Mayor Anita Dugatto, a Democrat, is seeking a third term as the city's top elected official, but she faces competition for her party's nomination.

The Connecticut Post reports that Board of Aldermen President Carmen DiCenso plans to launch a primary campaign if he does not receive the Democratic nomination. The victor will face Republican mayoral candidate Richard Dziekan.

Dugatto is planning to kick off her campaign with a fundraising event on March 22 at the Derby Elk’s Lodge.
