DIY Workshops At Emmett O’Brien Tech
Learn some basic DIY tasks like how to change a flat tire, monitor computers for viruses and properly use health and beauty products.
From Emmett O’Brien Technical High School: Emmett O’Brien Technical High School will be offering “Do-It-Yourself” sessions on a range of topics. The sessions will be held from 5-7 P.M. on April 25th. Community members will be invited to participate in demonstrations that will enrich their repertoire of real life skills.
Workshops that will be offered are health and general wellness related. Community members will have the opportunity to cycle between stations. Special guests include Valley United Way and Griffin Hospital. The following sessions will be held: learn how to check tire pressure and change a flat tire, replace light switches, monitor computers for viruses, plan furniture layouts, properly use health and beauty products, monitor blood pressure, and navigate community resources including 211. There will be a free Yoga session and light refreshments.
“Our students and staff are excited about sharing their knowledge. We hope members of the community will spend time with us and learn something new," the Family Engagement Committee said. Emmett O’Brien Technical High School is located in Ansonia and is part of the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System. Our diverse students come to us from all over the Naugatuck Valley area, as well as Monroe, Trumbull, Bethany, Woodbridge and various other towns. We offer 11 technical career focused programs, plus sports, clubs and various extracurricular activities.
