Dog killed in hit and run in front of Long Hill Elementary School

25 MPH Zone Clearly Marked

On Tuesday night, March 20, 2018 approximately 8:30 PM a lost dog was hit and killed by an unidentified white SUV in front of Long Hill Elementary School. The driver did not stop to provide assistance and it is believed that driver did not slow down.

There was debris left by the truck, parts of the bumper plus reflector pieces. If anyone notices a White SUV in the area they are encourage to contact the Shelton Police Department with the information.

Please note that this happened in front of Long Hill Elementary School, a 25 MPH zone. If the driver was following the traffic laws they would have enough time to stop or not hit the dog with such a fatal strike. The next time it could be child.
