Early Dismissals Wednesday At Shelton & Derby Public Schools

SHELTON & DERBY, CT — Shelton and Derby public schools will dismiss students early on Wednesday, March 9, due to the inclement weather sweeping through Connecticut Wednesday morning, district officials announced.

"In the interest of safety, due to unpredictable road conditions later this afternoon, the Shelton Public Schools will hold an early dismissal today, Wednesday, March 9, 2022," Shelton Schools Superintendent Ken Saranich wrote on Twitter.

Derby's Schools Superintendent Matt Conway echoed those sentiments. "Due to impending inclement weather Derby Public Schools will operate on an early dismissal Schedule," he wrote.

"Thanks and have a great Wednesday!"
