Eddy Conklin's Parents Receive Son's Honorary Diploma

Eddy's name, and that of Kristjan Ndoj, were read aloud with those of their classmates at Shelton High School's graduation ceremony.

Shelton, CT - Cheers greeted the saying of the names of Eddy Conklin and Kristjan Ndoj at Friday's Shelton High School graduation ceremony.

The two deceased students received posthumous honorary diplomas from the high school, a move that almost did not take place were it not for the persistence of Eddy's parents, Barbara and Ed Conklin.

Barbara Conklin told the Shelton Herald that is was wonderful to finally hear Eddy's name called.

Initially, the school district was going to present Eddy's parents with the honorary diploma at a separate awards ceremony. Eddy died in a car accident in February, only an English short of graduating, and his parents fought to have him included in the graduation event.
