Elevated Bacteria Count Closes Shelton Beach

New test results will determine if the beach can be reopened.

The beach at Indian Well State Park in Shelton is closed to swimming due to elevated bacteria counts, according to the Connecticut DEEP.

Four other beaches were closed due to elevated bacteria levels in Westport, Milford and Southbury.

The elevated bacteria counts were detected by water quality testing.
