Fire Found Behind Window Sill At Multi-Family Shelton Home: FD

Fire officials said crews found a small smoldering fire behind the window sill of a multi-family home in Shelton.

SHELTON, CT — A small fire was found behind the window sill of a multi-family Shelton home Saturday afternoon, according to fire officials.

In a news release, officials said crews were called to a Howe Avenue home around 3 p.m. to investigate reports of smoke.

Upon arrival, firefighters found light smoke coming from the base of a first floor window and a slight haze in the first floor unit, officials said. After further investigation, crews found a small smoldering fire behind a window sill.

Firefighters soaked the area with a pressurized water extinguisher and checked the area for additional fire extension, officials said. The home was deemed habitable and no injuries were reported.
