Former Derby Pain Clinic Nurse Involved in Pharmaceutical Bribery Case: Report
The defendant is one of several who have been linked to a kickback scheme by federal prosecutors in Massachusetts.

DERBY, CT — Heather Alfonso, a former advanced practice registered nurse at Derby's Comprehensive Pain and Headache Treatment Center, was one of seven people involved in an indictment this week in Massachusetts in connection with a pharmaceutical bribery scheme, reports Connecticut Health I-Team.
Six people, all former executives with Insys Therapeutics, Inc., were indicted for allegedly paying kickbacks to medical practitioners to promote its cancer drug Subsys.
Alfonso, who previously pleaded guilty in the scheme, was one of the practitioners in who was paid under the guise of a fraudulent "speaker agreement," according to the publication.
