Former Shelton Official Who Stole $1 Million Has New Location
The theft occurred over a 10-year period.

SHELTON, CT - Sharon Scanlon, Shelton's former assistant finance director who stole about $1 million from the town, reportedly has been released from prison, where she served less than half of her 54-month sentence.
Scanlon spent about two years behind bars at Niantic's York Correctional Institution, reports the Connecticut Post and Valley Independent Sentinel.
She pleaded guilty to stealing about $100,000 in taxpayer money per year for close to 10 years. Scanlon, 51, worked for the town for 17 years before resigning in 2012 after the theft was discovered.
