Griffin Health to Host Poignant Evening about Emotional Well-Being and Grief Featuring Connecticut Poet
The July 17 event will explore the mental and spiritual health benefits in expressing the emotional challenges of love, loss and healing

The Community Health Resource Center at Griffin Hospital, 130 Division St., Derby, will host an evening of poetry and conversation, exploring the mental and spiritual health benefits in expressing the emotional challenges of love, loss and healing featuring Connecticut poet Farron Saifee, of Wallingford, on Thurs., July 17 at 5:30 p.m.
This empowering and positive event will discuss the complexities of love, relationships, grief, and life's inevitable moments of connection and loss. Saifee will read poems from her book, Craters on the Moon, a lyrical journey through the tender and the tumultuous that captures universal themes while reflecting deeply personal experiences.
The free event also includes a panel discussion with caregivers from the Griffin Health Psychiatry and Spiritual Care departments, offering insights on how creative expression - especially writing and journaling - can support emotional well-being through times of grief and transition, as well as how to access inner resources for self-care through caregiving, loss, and recovery.
