House Fire Extinguished In Shelton: FD

Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish a house fire that broke out this week in Shelton, according to fire officials.

SHELTON, CT — Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish a house fire that broke out Monday morning in Shelton, according to fire officials.

In a news release posted to Facebook, fire officials said crews were called to a home on Oak Avenue around 10:30 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of a house fire.

When crews arrived, they could see fire coming from the home. Firefighters extinguished the visible flames and made their way into the home, where they found smoke but no remaining fire, according to fire officials.

Firefighters ventilated the smoke and metered for toxic gases as additional crews checked for any fire extension, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.

Crews remained at the home for about an hour, fire officials said. The city's fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
