Husband Killed, Wife Injured In Hit-And-Run Accident: Police

The couple, both 81-years-old, were crossing the street after leaving a wake, according to a report.

SEYMOUR, CT — A husband and wife from Shelton were struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing the street on Bank Street while leaving a wake at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home on Friday night, according to NBC Connecticut and police.

The husband, James Tamborra, 81, died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident while his wife, Barbara, 81, suffered serious injuries, NBC Connecticut reports. The hit-and-run accident occurred at 6:05 p.m. on Bank Street or Route 67 in front of the Klarides Village shopping center, Seymour police said.

A police officer was assisting the couple cross the street at the time of the accident, NBC CT reports.

Police said they are looking for a 2014 to 2016 Acura MDX. If anyone knows where this vehicle is located, call Seymour police at (203) 881-7601. Police released a video of the vehicle.
