ID Released In Fatal Route 8 Rollover Crash In Seymour
A man is dead after his car rolled and struck a utility pole in an accident Thursday evening, according to state police.

SEYMOUR, CT — A man died following a rollover accident in Seymour on Thursday night, according to police.
State police responded at 6:54 p.m. on a report of a single-car accident on Route 8 northbound near exit 18.
An initial investigation found that a 2010 Subaru Legacy was driving in the left lane when the car lost control, left the road, rolled over, and struck an electrical pole.

The driver was ejected from the car. He was taken by ambulance to Waterbury Hospital where he was declared dead.
Daniel Popiolek, 37, of Beacon Falls, was killed in the crash.

The case remains under investigation.
