Inaugural Derby, Ansonia Charity Ball Announced For February

The communities of Derby and Ansonia are set to come together for an evening of charity and camaraderie later this month.

DERBY, CT — The communities of Derby and Ansonia are set to come together for an evening of charity and camaraderie later this month.

In a news release, co-chairs Jim Gildea of Derby and Barbara Duncan of Ansonia announced the Inaugural Ansonia/Derby Charity Ball will take place Feb. 21 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Sons & Daughters of Italy, located at 73 High Street in Derby.

The heartfelt initiative is supported by both Derby Mayor Joseph DiMartino and Ansonia Mayor Frank Tyszka, according to the release.

Attendees can enjoy a dinner featuring chicken parmigiana, pasta, salad and more, as well as dancing, a cash bar and a complimentary photo booth, according to the release.

The event will also raise funds for vital non-profits serving both communities. Tickets are priced at $50 per person with all proceeds going directly to these worthy causes, according to the release.

"We're thrilled to unite our neighbors for a night of fun and generosity," Gildea and Duncan said in a news release. "Your presence will help us make a real difference for the charities that do so much for Ansonia and Derby."
