Webster Bank, a leading regional bank serving businesses and consumers from Westchester County, N.Y. to Boston, Mass., announced today the promotion of Janice Sheehy to senior vice president, business banking as a result of her significant contributions, demonstrated leadership, and increased responsibilities. Sheehy has been with Webster for 15-years, leading the business banking efforts in the Shelton, Conn., region. She has more than 30-years of banking experience. “We are excited to recognize Janice’s track record as she has consistently delivered results above expectations,” said John Guy, senior vice president, director of Business Banking. “She has demonstrated by example all the Webster core values around delivering an exceptional customer experience and great partnership within and across the various lines of the bank. This recognition is also consistent with the message the bank has delivered internally and to the business and investment community about the strategic importance of Business Banking.” Sheehy is a resident of Ansonia, Conn. She earned her Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of New Haven. She serves on numerous boards including the Valley United Way, BH Care (formerly Birmingham Group Health Services), the Hewitt Foundation and Shelton Economic Development Corp. She is also a corporator of Griffin Hospital and was a member of the steering committee that raised money to create a comprehensive Breast health Center there. Sheehy is also a former volunteer for Junior Achievement, has served as Chair of the Board of the Valley YMCA, and is a past member of the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven’s Women and Girls Fund. Her community leadership has been recognized by the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce which presented her with its Gold Seal Award. She is also the recipient of the Charles H. Flynn Humanitarian Award presented by the Valley United Way.
