The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
The need for balanced development and a vibrant downtown. I have been an outspoken advocate for developments that create jobs, add to our quality of life, and have led the efforts to fight back against proposals that do not make sense for Shelton.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I have led on critical issues related to our town's future development, often the only Commissioner to vote against massive developments, or to cut back the density of certain proposals. I am focused on our downtown - and the need for more shops, and eateries and more parking.
Accomplishments:
As your Planning & Zoning Commissioner, I have been an outspoken advocate for balanced development. I have worked against the 120-acre massive development named Shelter Ridge, as well as worked with the community against proposals that do not make sense in Huntington, along Long Hill Avenue, and on River Road and along residential areas in town.
Other issues:
A City must have a plan for the future, and not piecemeal development. A City must develop, but we must do so with smart development that keeps in mind future generations -- not just quick deals with developers of today. I am focused on balanced development and a vibrant downtown. I have worked with non-profits and business owners for events and activities in our downtown, and am working on more shops and more parking. We must bring balanced development to Shelton, and so let's build Shelton together.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I have served on our budgeting board, and on the Planning & Zoning Commission. As someone born and raised in our town, and deeply involved in the community, and I know how to get things done for the benefit of residents.
