John A. Patulak - Obituary

John Alexis Patulak, age 81, beloved husband of Barbara Ovesne Patulak, died peacefully on December 8, 2022, at Griffin Hospital. He was born in Derby, Connecticut on September 3, 1941, the son of the late John and Julia Baluk Patulak. John was raised in Ansonia, CT and attended Sts. Peter & Paul Grammar School, Ansonia High School and is an alumnus of Quinnipiac University. He was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his devoted children: Mark Patulak of Vermont, James Patulak of Coventry, CT (wife Sandra and son Josh) and Jennifer Turpin of Glendale, Arizona (husband Neil and daughter Lana); his sister Ann Jones of Shelton, Connecticut; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family with whom he enjoyed spending his time. He was predeceased by his sister, Lillian Laskey.

John enjoyed a long career as a respected insurance auditor and built long-standing friendships with many of his colleagues across the country. John was a crossword enthusiast, avid reader and loved to watch Jeopardy each evening with his wife. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, had a wicked sense of humor, and cherished his relationship with his granddaughter Lana.
