Joseph “Joey” Howard Juliano, Jr., age 55 of Waterbury, died peacefully on May 22, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Waterbury on August 2, 1969, he was the son of the late Joseph H. Juliano, Sr. and Mary Seeley Juliano Jones. Mr. Juliano was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and a 1987 graduate of Wilby High School. He was a school bus driver for the Waterbury School System, prior to his long-term employment with the former Aurora Casket Company, where he worked as a delivery driver. Joey’s approachable personality and sense of humor made him a popular driver throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed many memorable cruises along the backroads of CT. Joey was most comfortable being at home, surrounded by his family, teasing his nieces and nephews, all while keeping an ear on the police and fire scanner. He enjoyed a good steak yet, found simple pleasure in fast food just the same. Joey will be long remembered for his gentle soul and for his special love for his family. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Aaliyaih Juliano of Waterbury; his loyal brother and best friend, Irving Juliano and his wife Sherrie of Waterbury; sisters, Lisa Juliano and Dorothy Kulikauskas, both of Waterbury, a cherished grandson, Kaimon Brown of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a step-father, Joseph “Jonesy” Jones, infant grandsons, Tywon Juliano and Klayton Brown; a brother-in-law, Al Kulikauskas and a nephew, Joseph Kulikauskas.
A celebration of life service will be announced in the future. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
