Juvenile Sex Assault Arrest Made In Shelton: PD

SHELTON, CT — A Torrington man was arrested after he sexually assaulted a teen in Shelton, according to police. Christopher Galvin, 45, and the teen met in an online chat room when she was 13-years-old in 2013. He pretended to be a 22-year-old at the time.

They became friends and over time Galvin began to drive to Shelton to meet the juvenile. In February 2017 the two were parked in his car and she fell asleep, at which point Galvin sexually assaulted her, said Detective Richard Bango, police spokesman. She began to scream.

The juvenile, then 17-years-old, filed a complaint with police in March 2017. Galvin continued to text and email her to try and justify what he had done, Bango said.

He was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree harassment. Additional arrests are expected in the case.
