Lauretti Accuses Boughton Of Broken Petition Promise
Boughton has denied not living up to his end of a deal to help his opponent collect signatures.

DANBURY, CT — Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti said that Danbury mayor and Republican gubernatorial nominee Mark Boughton didn't live up to his end of a deal to help collect primary petition signatures.
Lauretti failed to qualify for the Republican primary after he didn't collect enough signatures by the deadline. He told the Hartford Courant that he made a deal with Boughton at the GOP convention to release his delegates in an effort to help Boughton clinch the nomination.
In exchange Boughton said he would help Lauretti collect signatures.

Boughton said his volunteers helped Lauretti collect 700 signatures and even signed a petition himself and that Lauretti should've spent more time collecting signatures instaed of golfing
