Lawmakers to Host Shelton Senior Fair & Medicare Presentation

Shelton - Senator Kevin Kelly (R-21), Representative Jason Perillo (R-113) and Representative Ben McGorty (R-122) are hosting a Senior Health & Wellness Fair on Tuesday September 23, 2014 from 9am-12pm. The fair will be followed by a special presentation “Medicare for You and Your Loved One” from 12pm-2pm. Both events will take place at the Shelton Senior Center at 81 Wheeler Street in Shelton.

The Senior Health and Wellness Fair will feature state and local organizations on site to provide health screenings and information about local programs and services to seniors. The fair is open to the public.

The Medicare presentation, titled “Medicare for You and Your Loved One” will feature speakers Judith Stein, Executive Director of the Center for Medicare Advocacy, and Nancy Shaffer, Connecticut State Long Term Care Ombudsman. The discussion will focus on recent developments in Medicare and what these changes mean for seniors and their families. Reservations are required for the presentation.
