Local Officers Save Opioid Overdose Victim: Police
The 48-year-old woman was initially found in a vehicle on River Street in Seymour.

SEYMOUR, CT — Police officers in Seymour saved a woman this week who had overdosed on opioids, according to a post on the Seymour Police Department's Facebook page.
The incident occurred at about 3:17 a.m. on Oct. 18 on River Street, police said, when a man and a woman were found in a vehicle.
"The female was found to be unresponsive and suffering from an opioid overdose," wrote police. "Officers [Kevin] Miceli and [Donald] Scheithe administered NARCAN to the female victim. After several minutes the 48 yr old female became responsive."

She was then transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, according to police.
The Oct. 18 rescue marked the second such incident in a month, the department said, where Seymour officers used NARCAN to help revive an opioid overdose victim.

"The Officers are to be commended for a job well done," police wrote.
