Man, 90, Assaulted During Ansonia Home Invasion: PD
The man is facing more than 20 criminal counts after stealing cars and committing multiple burglaries, according to police.

ANSONIA, CT — A Beacon Falls man stole two vehicles, committed a home invasion, broke into another house and fled from police all within about two hours on July 24, according to police.
Anthony Rodriguez-Horvath, 21, broke into a the home of a 90-year-old man on Clark Street and demanded his car keys. He knocked the man to the ground, took the keys and the man's wallet and ripped the house phone from the wall, police said.
Rodriguez-Horvath was spotted on Woodlawn Avenue driving the stolen car and fled police. At one point he reached 70 mph. Police terminated the pursuit due to safety concerns.

Rodriguez-Horvath was then spotted breaking into cars in the Big Y parking lot about 45 minutes later. He was apprehended after witnesses directed police to the Road Ready Ysed Car lot.
Rodriguez-Horvath had a bag of marijuana in his mouth and other narcotics were found during a search, police said.

Prior to the home invasion Rodriguez-Horvath broke into a North State Street home, but didn't take anything. It was also learned that he abandoned the initial stolen vehicle and stole another from Road Ready Used Cars.
He was charged with the following long list and bond was set at $290,000:

- Larceny Second Degree – 2 counts

- Possession of Narcotics
- Possession of Marijuana
- Interfering With an Emergency Call
- Possession of Burglary Tools
- Disobeying Officer’s Signal
- Engaging in Pursuit
- Reckless Driving
- Traveling Unreasonably Fast
- Failure to Obey Stop Light
- Failure to Obey Stop Sign
