In a news release earlier this week, Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said officers and emergency medical service crews were called to a Walnut Tree Hill Road home Tuesday around 7:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing.

After further investigation, police determined a man and two women were hanging out at the home when an argument broke out between the man and a 35-year-old woman, Kozlowsky said.

According to Kozlowsky, the man physically assaulted and strangled the woman, then grabbed a knife and stabbed her. The man then got into a vehicle and left the home.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was evaluated by EMS. Two teenagers were also present at the home when the incident occurred but were not harmed, according t to Kozlowsky.

Officers also determined one of the teens tried to call 911 and report the incident but the other woman present, Sarah Graf, 33, of Shelton, tried to grab the phone and prevent the teen from contacting police, according to Kozlowsky.

Graf was arrested and charged with interfering with an emergency call. She was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
