Mary Jane (Nyshy) Vidnansky

1946 - 2024

Mary Jane (Nyshy) Vidnansky age 78, peacefully passed on to her heavenly reward on Thursday, October 3, 2024. The daughter of Julius and Mary (Zaniewski) Vidnansky, she was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 28, 1946, and spent most of her life there until she moved to Shelton later in her life.

She was a lifelong Red Sox fan and enjoyed collecting all things pig, especially little pig figurines. Her collection was extensive and adorable.

She was an extremely skilled phlebotomist who was sought out by her patients to the point that they would follow her to other cities if she changed branches to have her draw their blood. And that was not just because she was so expert at it, but also because of her friendly personality and caring heart. Her latest position was with Quest Diagnostics until her retirement in 2022.
Mary Jane was a devout Roman Catholic who was very involved with the church. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Bridgeport for most of her life, and then St. Margaret Mary in Shelton and finally at St. Lawrence in Shelton, where she enjoyed being a part of the Rosary Guild. 2024 brought her many health challenges and she was cared for expertly and lovingly by the staff at Civita Care Center at West River in Milford until the end.
