Naugatuck Resident Honored by Griffin Hospital

Griffin Hospital celebrated with 138 Multi-Skilled Technicians at its Sixth Annual MST Day Celebration in Derby.

Griffin Hospital recently celebrated its 138 Multi-Skilled Technicians (MSTs) at its Sixth Annual MST Day Celebration.

The MSTs were treated to a “Flag Day” themed lunch as a thank you for their dedication to providing exceptional patient care. MSTs assist the hospital Nursing staff with patient care and are also specially trained in a variety of medical skills including phlebotomy and EKG.

In addition to the celebratory lunch, Vice President of Patient Care Services Barbara Stumpo honored gave awards for MSTs who excelled in their roles.

Maria Morgado, of Waterbury, was awarded the Heart of Caring Award, which is given to a MST who is committed, compassionate, kind and patient-focused, exemplifying the hospital’s Planetree, patient-centered philosophy and representing the ideal MST.

Ruthy Sagastume, of Naugatuck, received the MST Excellence Award, which is given to an MST who consistently demonstrates excellent bedside care and professionalism towards patients, and possesses a kind and caring attitude that is reflected to patients, families and coworkers.
