New Curriculum Efforts Added In Shelton's K-8 Schools: Report
The new learning initiatives are the first new programs introduced in close to 10 years.
SHELTON, CT — Shelton Public Schools has introduced new curriculum programs at the K-8 level for the first time in about a decade, reported the Shelton Herald.
The Great Minds curricula Eureka Math Squared, and English language arts program Wit & Wisdom, were added this year.
According to the website, Eureka Math Squared "is a revolutionary math program designed to ensure that students move beyond rote memorization to build enduring math knowledge."

Wit & Wisdom, the site reads, "is a comprehensive K–8 curriculum that has transformed English language arts (ELA) instruction in classrooms across the nation."
Officials reportedly decided to add the programs to ensure a sense of consistency through the district's educational efforts.
