New Farm Zoning Proposal In Shelton Garners Opposition: Report
The proposed zoning amendment reportedly would allow for structures up to 6,000 square feet on 10 acres or more of farm land in the city.
SHELTON, CT — A zoning amendment proposal in Shelton that would allow farms to build commercial structures on 10 or more acres, reportedly is facing opposition from some residents, the Connecticut Post wrote.
The proposal would allow farms to build buildings as big as 6,000 square feet to sell produce and other farm products. Parking for the structures would also be allowed.
However, some residents of the city's Wabuda Place area oppose the amendment change, arguing that land zoned for farming could end up with commercial developments that could increase traffic and adversely impact the neighborhood.
