New Hotel and Restaurant Proposed for Shelton

A Trumbull-based developer hopes to build the facility on Bridgeport Avenue.

SHELTON, CT — Trumbull-based developer Phil DiGennaro, of Sound Development, is proposing to build a hotel and restaurant in Shelton near the ShopRite and Stop & Shop supermarkets on Bridgeport Avenue, reports the Connecticut Post.

The establishment would be operated by the Best Western chain, under that company's new GLo brand, and cater to business travelers and families.

It would hold 96 guest rooms and would feature "cool, state-of-the-art" elements, such as a large lobby that would have a Starbucks feel, according to DiGennaro. The proposal still must meet government approval, beginning with the Shelton Planning and Zoning Commission.
