No Clowning Around: Ansonia Police Arrest Suspects in 'Creepy Clown' Threats at Local Schools

Three teens have been arrested in connection with social media threats of violence involving clowns.

ANSONIA, CT — Three teenagers have been arrested by Ansonia police in connection with social media threats of violence involving "creepy clowns."

Two 13-year-old girls were arrested in one case, according to the department, and a 16-year-old girl was arrested in another case at Emmett O'Brien Technical High School, reports Fox61 News.

Creepy clown social media posts, crimes and sightings have swept the country in recent months, and Connecticut has experienced its share of such antics, too.

"Arrests have been made in the threatening social media posts investigation," wrote Ansonia police in a Facebook post Wednesday. "Two 13 year old females have been arrested and referred to juvenile authorities. All the involved parties have been identified and arrested. There will still be an increased police presence at all the schools today."
