He was a transmission mechanic at Sikorsky Aircraft and owned and operated service stations in Stratford and Shelton.

Frank Joseph Cantafio age 66 of Huntington, CT went home to the Lord peacefully on Saturday January 16, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Joseph and Emily (Margavitch) Cantafio. Frank owned and operated a service station with his father in Stratford, CT for many years. Frank and his father created a wonderful talented team that provided top notch service to their clients. With his expertise as an auto mechanic Frank purchased another service station in Huntington, CT. For the next twenty years Frank delivered first class service and was a fixture in the Huntington community. Frank developed lifelong friends and was always there to lend a hand to anyone that needed help. After retiring from the auto mechanic business Frank took his skills and became a transmission mechanic at Sikorksy Aircraft. Frank loved working on the Black Hawks and always found joy talking about his time at Sikorsky.

Frank was devoted to his Catholic Faith and was a Eucharistic minister at St. Lawrence Church for many years in Huntington. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid Raiders fan as well as a collector of classic Corvette’s.

Frank enjoyed good food and company, but above all he relished the moments he had with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren which he was affectionally known as “Papa”. Frank’s family meant everything to him. He faced many obstacles these past years always staying positive, fighting to get better, while repeating his favorite line, “This too shall pass.” Frank will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Frank will be sadly missed by the love of his life Donna (Salvaggio) his wife of 47 years. Frank also leaves behind his cherished son Steven and his wife Bethany of MA, his devoted daughter who was always by his side, Renee and her husband WalterJohn Lucia. Frank also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren Carter and Riley Cantafio and Frankie and Santino Lucia. He lived to spend quality time with his grandchildren when he could or enjoyed the daily phones calls, texts, or face times which always brought a smile to his face. He also leaves behind his special Uncle Armand, Aunts, a niece, nephews, several cousins and many friends. Frank was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Seres.

A heartfelt thank you to his “chosen brother” Paul that he will be eternally grateful for.
