Obituary: Anne F. Tavella Gallo, 96, Of Shelton

Anne was a paraprofessional and cafeteria monitor (lunch lady) for the Trumbull school system for many years.

Anne F. Tavella Gallo, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Anthony Gallo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Stratford, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Rose Chicello Tavella.

Raised in Bridgeport, Anne was a retired medical secretary and CNA for St. Joseph's Manor for 26 years before her retirement and was very active in the Ladies Guild at Holy Rosary Church. Anne was a Paraprofessional and Cafeteria Monitor (Lunch Lady) for the Trumbull School System for many years.

But above all her greatest role in life was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook for her family and was at her best when her family was by her side, especially her grandchildren. The unconditional love she gave and values she taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two loving children, Maryanne O'Connell and her husband Richard and Thomas Gallo and his wife Gloria, five cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Brian and Jillianne O'Connell, Anthony Gallo and his wife Katie and Angela Gallo Ferraro and her husband Brandon, an adored great grandson Luca, a sister, Agnes Lazor, sister-in-law, Mary Aquilino, dear friend and companion, Sarah McNamara, her loving caretaker, Marta Rosa, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Rocco, John, Frank, Philip and Anthony Tavella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
