Obituary: Anthony M. DiMenno, 98, Of Shelton

Anthony was a man of faith and a longtime parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Shelton.

Anthony M. DiMenno, age 98, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Rocchina Aurilio DiMenno, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Newtown Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Prior to this he was a resident at MiddleBrook Farms Trumbull, CT, where he was cared for and loved by the extraordinary staff and residents. Born in Bridgeport on May 8, 1925, he was a son of the late Philip and Carmela Capozzi DiMenno.

After high school Anthony joined the United States Army. He later went on to become a plumber and the operator of Park City Plumbing alongside his wife Rocchina (Rocky Aurilio) DiMenno for many years before his retirement. Anthony was a man of faith and a longtime parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Shelton. He was proud to have served as a weekly sponsor of many local Food Pantries.

Survivors include a son, Philip DiMenno MD and his wife Debora of Berlin and a daughter, Carmela "Candie" Veccharelli and her husband Peter Jr. of Sandy Hook, four grandchildren, Daniel Veccharelli and his wife Katherine, Dr. Kate Veccharelli and her husband Patrick Johnson, Rachel Valentine and her husband Jamie and Abby Gagnon and her husband Michael, six great grandchildren, Connor, Matthew, Zoey, Kaedin, Addison and Jack as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Henry DiMenno and Philip DiMenno Jr.

A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 12 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
