
Barbara Ann DeBarbieri, age 81, of Derby entered into rest on Friday, February 26, 2025 at Griffin Hospital.
She was born in Derby on February 15, 1944 daughter of the late John DeBarbieri, Sr. and Edna (DeMartini) DeBarbieri.
Barbara was a research chemist at Hoffmann La-Roche in Nutley, New Jersey from the 1960’s until her retirement. She was Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at the Federal Credit Union in New Jersey and was also President of the Nutley Senior Citizens’ Housing Corporation in New Jersey.

Barbara also held a small engine pilot’s license for many years. She was an ardent supporter of various charitable and conservative causes. An avid Science fiction fan, Second Amendment enthusiast, and a pioneer in her field, Barbara led a life defying convention and will be sorely missed by those who knew her.
Barbara was the beloved aunt of John DeBarbieri, III and his wife Ruth and Matthew DeBarbieri and his wife Keisha. She was great aunt to Marcus and Anna DeBarbieri. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother John DeBarbieri, Jr.

There will be a private interment for family and close friends in the spring where she will be laid to rest alongside her brother at Mount St. Peter’s Cemetery.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton has been entrusted with her arrangements.
