Obituary: Barbara Mackowski

Barbara Mackowski, age 79, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, July 26, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was the devoted wife of 51 years to Joseph Mackowski, Sr. Barbara was born in Derby on February 19, 1942, daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen (Benedict) Puterski. She grew up in Ansonia until moving to Shelton where she resided for most of her life.

Barbara worked in Aftercare at Griffin Hospital for over 20 years until her retirement. She was very active at the Shelton Senior Center and enjoyed their exercise classes.

Barbara was the beloved mother of Joseph Mackowski, Jr., Donna Hafele and her husband Douglas and Linda Forgione and her husband John and loving grandmother of Nicholas and Justin Hafele, Michael and Tyler Forgione and Rachel Mackowski.

Friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:30 - 11:00 am at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the parlor. Her burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
