Obituary: Barbara A. Tyler

Barbara A. Tyler, age 84, of Derby entered into rest Monday, November 29, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was predeceased by her first husband of 36 years Warren J. Tyler and her second husband of 21 years Edward W. Tyler. Barbara was born in Hoboken, NJ, daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (McGrath) Kiessling and was a lifelong valley resident. She worked in construction as a bookkeeper. Barbara loved gardening and belonged to several online Doll collecting and sculpting forums. Barbara also enjoyed watching UCONN Women’s Basketball and Professional Bull Riders.

She was the beloved mother of Sharon Haynes and her husband Wade, Dawn Sharpe and her late husband John M. Sharpe, Jr. and the late Warren Tyler, mother-in-law of Joan Kowalski-Tyler and sister of Judie Sardone and her husband John. Barbara was the loving grandmother of Warren Tyler, Jason Barrett and his wife Melissa, Sarah Sharpe, Samantha Sharpe, Edward Sharpe, Evan Sharpe and Tabatha Sharpe and great grandmother of Ian, Kayden and Noah. Barbara was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Friday, her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Her burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
