Obituary: Carol Rennie

Beloved Sister and Aunt

Carol Rennie, age 75, of Shelton entered into rest on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Greenwich, on July 12, 1948, daughter of the late Gordon Hunter and Virginia Waldron Rennie. A free spirit and sharp wit, Carol brought her professional acumen everywhere she lived and worked.

After graduating from Greenwich High School in 1966, Carol worked as a secretary in investment banking and other financial services in New York City for nearly a decade. She then moved to Denver, where she obtained her stock broker’s license and became the city’s first female stock broker. During the decade she lived in St. Croix, she developed her own business to provide secretarial and office administration services to a host of lawyers and firms on the island. Her career flourished during her 30-year tenure as a legal assistant for a prominent law firm in Washington, D.C., where she developed a strong grasp of food and drug law and formed relationships that she cherished throughout her days.

She was the beloved sister of David Rennie and his wife Meg and Richard Rennie and his wife Terry. She was also the loving aunt of Katherine Rennie Carberry, her husband Kenneth, and their children Kiera and Nora Carberry; Carolyn Rennie Losos and her husband Wojciech; Karla Rennie Downing and her husband Van; and Amanda Rennie.
