Obituary: Ethel Mae Shaw

Ethel Mae Shaw, age 95, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in Virginia Beach, VA with her loving family by her side.

She was the devoted wife of the late Bernard Shaw. Ethel was born in Arnold, PA on April 21, 1927 daughter of the late John J. and Ellen (Tyson) Murhamer.

She was a nurses aide for many years at the United Methodist Homes until her retirement. Ethel was a charter and lifetime member of the Harbor Valley Yacht Club. She also enjoyed gardening, camping, crafting, dancing and loved bingo and hummingbirds. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

Ethel was the beloved mother of Ellen Shaw Day (late Walter), Bernard James Shaw (Marilyn), Patricia Shaw Clement (Richard) and Diane Shaw Rooney. She was the loving grandmother of 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Murhamer and William Murhamer and three sisters Rachel Banks, Betty Walker Webb and Gladys Murhamer.

On Saturday, friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Her funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the parlor.
