H. Thomas Jensen, 83, of Shelton entered into eternal rest with his Lord on Friday, November 11, 2022.
Tom was a mild-mannered humble man who lived a really full and meaningful life. He leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Janet McNeill Jensen, his cherished and loving daughters and son-in-law: Krisa Jensen Andros (John), Kerry and Melinda “Mimi” Jensen, and three grandsons: George, Patrick, and Brendan Andros, who complete his loved and cherished immediate family. He had three younger siblings: Edmond Jensen (Pat), Margaret Ann Jensen, and Aileen Jensen Palazzo (Frank).
He was born in Bridgeport, CT on May 14, 1939, a Mother’s Day gift, to the late Harry T. and Kathleen O'Connor Jensen. He grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford HS Class of ‘57. He loved getting together with former classmates at their 5 yr reunions. Following HS he graduated from UCONN with a BS in mechanical/industrial engineering. He was also a brother in the Delta Chi Fraternity. After graduation he started his career in the Constant Speed Drive Dept. of AVCO Lycoming in Stratford and later at Bolt Technology Corp. in Norwalk, where he retired from after 34 years as VP Engineering. After retirement he and Janet owned a cottage rental business, Stella Maris Cottages, in Wells Fleet, Prince Edward Island, Canada which they operated for 13 years.
Tom’s other love was Jesus Christ and his Roman Catholic Church which he served faithfully till the end. He was a daily communicant and active participant in the CCD program, Emaus Youth Retreats, Prayer Group, lector, eucharistic minister, visiting hospitals, choir, and prolife activities. He was never afraid to share his faith with others… truly a faithful servant of the Lord.
His fun times were mostly centered around the water: windsurfing, paddle boarding, swimming, and jogging on the beach. His other longtime activities included skiing and tennis and Janet kept up with it all. They were buddies in the truest sense of the word.
So blest are those of us who knew and loved Tom. Certainly he will be welcomed very warmly by his God in heaven.
