Obituary: Jeanette Verzaro Tallo Shorrock

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt

Jeanette Verzaro Tallo Shorrock, 89, of Shelton entered into rest on
Thursday December 5th at Apple Rehab Hewitt.

She was the devoted wife of George Shorrock for over 50 years.
Jeanette was born in Bridgeport February 23, 1935, daughter of
Anthony and Helen (Kostan) Verzaro and was raised in Fairfield.
As a young woman Jeanette found her lifelong career in the restaurant
industry first as a server, where her passion for food quickly became evident.
Through hard work, determination, and natural talent she rose to the role of Chef,
mastering her craft the old school way – through hands on experience and a love
to create memorable meals. Her culinary skills and warm personality made her a
beloved figure to all who had the pleasure of dining at her table. Jeanette managed
several yacht club restaurants, most notably Pootatuck Yacht Club, Stratford.
Jeanette enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and making up silly songs for her
grandchildren. Most of all, she loved cooking for everyone and was especially known for
her Eggplant Parmigiana.

She was the beloved mother of Maria (late Donald) Koshis, Toni (Roberto) Cotto,
Michael (Dawn) Tallo, and Shane (Terri) Shorrock.
She was the loving “Grandma Nette” to 11 Grandchildren; Joseph, Jennifer, Michael,
Anthony, Roberto, Carmen, Vincent, Matthew, Sarah, Shayna, Brandon and 13
Great Grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother John and sisters Constance, and Sandra and
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Anthony Jr and Ronald and her sisters Virginia,
Charlotte, Rose Marie and Eleanor.
