John C. (Jack) Luckachina, 72, of Huntington passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at his home. He was known as Jack to all that knew him and loved him. He leaves behind his beloved and adored wife of 39 years, Barbara Misencik Luckachina and his adored daughter Claire Peterson. There was nothing in this world that Jack enjoyed more than spending time with his two girls. Jack was a life-long area resident having grown up in Stratford before moving to Huntington 40 years ago.
He was a graduate of Bunnell High School and BEI Engineering Institute and turned his love of engineering to a 30 plus year career as an aerospace engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft where he researched and developed two patents in his name for the company, and beyond at RCM Technologies and Belcan Engineering. As he used to say “An engineer’s mind never stops working”.
Jack enjoyed his muscle cars in his youth and was a great World War II history buff. His idol was none other than General George S. Patton. He enjoyed volunteering at the West Haven Veterans Museum & Learning Center making new friendships there the last five years of his life.
