Obituary: John Tyson King III, 78, Of Shelton

John Tyson King III, age 78, of Shelton, beloved wife of Patricia Schmedlin King, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in the comfort of his home with his wife by his side.

Born on May 11, 1945 in Stamford, he was a son of the late John Tyson King Jr. and Martha Grossberndt King. John graduated from Darien High School in 1964. After high school, John was a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve from 1964 – 1970. He then went on to graduate from Boston University and attended the University of New Mexico.

In addition to his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia, survivors include two brothers, Jeffrey King and his wife Marcie of Marietta, GA, and Alan King, mother-in-law, Amelia Schmedlin, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and John Llewellyn, , as well as several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Rand King.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at a memorial gathering celebrating John's life on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home. 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
