Obituary: Joseph D. Kachala, 65; Formerly Of Shelton

SHELTON, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Joseph D. Kachala, 65, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023, in his home surrounded by family and friends.

Joe was born in Bridgeport on February 20, 1958, to the late Joseph and Catherine (Stempel) Kachala and had been a lifelong area resident, He was a graduate of Shelton High School, class of 1976 and earned a certificate in Computer Aided Drafting from Porter and Chester Institute.

He was employed by Signal Power Group as Manager, Design and Documentation until his retirement last year.

Survivors include his beloved daughter, Jennifer Kachala of California, brother, Robert Kachala of Southbury, niece, Sarah (Micah) Cohen, nephew, David (Miranda) Kachala, great-niece, Jenah Cohen, and his grand dog, Emmy. In addition to his parents, Joe was pre-deceased by his brother, Daniel.

He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in upstate New York, being in nature and skiing. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially playing board games and shared a special bond with his daughter playing Nintendo.

Visiting hours will be on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT. Prayers at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
