Martha Piwowarski, age 96, of Cheshire entered into rest on May 22, 2020 at her home. She was the devoted wife of the late William J. Piwowarski. Martha was born in Johnstown, PA on February 15, 1924 daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Urbanowicz) Jacevich and was a Shelton resident for most of her life. She proudly served with the US Navy. After leaving the Navy she attended Bullard Havens and became a seamstress. Later, she worked for SNET for 20 years before her retirement. Martha was a member of the Sutter-Terlizzi American Legion Post 16. She was the beloved mother of Martha Rogers and her husband Charles, William Piwowarski and his wife Penny, Joan Vars and her husband Larry and David Piwowarski and his wife Donna and sister of Leon Shuster and Rosemarie Varsank. Martha was the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers, Anthony Jacevich, Zygmund, George, Edward, Gerard, Bruno and Walter Shuster and a sister Ann Leon. On Saturday, July 31st, friends are invited to her memorial mass at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 420 Coram Ave., Shelton.
