Obituary: Rose H. Donofrio

Rose H. Donofrio, age 98, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at her home with her beloved family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Peter Donofrio. Rose was born in Ansonia on February 20, 1922 daughter of the late Karl John and Anna (Thornquist) Hillman and lived in Shelton for most of her life. She worked in small factories in the valley before her retirement. Rose was the beloved mother of Roseann Sidelinger and her husband Richard and sister-in-law of Inez and Rose Donofrio. She was the loving grandmother of 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by a son Peter J. Donofrio, a daughter Marilyn Olsen, a brother Theodore Hillman and two sisters, Marie Anderson and Lillie Petrie. Due to the coronavirus pandemic a private service will be held. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Her burial will be private. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.
