Obituary: Valerie Ann Duguay, 72, Of Shelton

SHELTON, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Valerie Ann Duguay, 72, of Shelton, the beloved widow of Joseph A. Duguay, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023 at Brightview Shelton.

Valerie was born in Bridgeport on June 8, 1950 to the late Charles and Frances (Strelecki) Byelsky. She was a longtime resident of Milford, where she raised her family, before to moving to Shelton. Valerie attended St. Michael School, Bridgeport and graduated from Harding High School.

A dedicated nurse for over 40 years, she spent most of her career both at Bridgeport Hospital and the State of Connecticut.

She is survived by her devoted children, Joseph Duguay and his wife Donna of Milford and Denise Butt and her husband Eric of Orange. Valerie was most proud of her cherished grandchildren, Alana, Joey, Avery and Mason. In addition to her husband and parents, Valerie was predeceased by her brother, Donald Byelsky.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Cemetery 1056 Daniels Farm Rd Trumbull. The Adzima Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
